The Corrs is a family band from Dundalk Ireland, and consist of the
four siblings Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim. They came together
and formed the band back in 1991, and have since then released several
studio albums and sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.

The first song I heard from the fab' four from Ireland
was What Can I Do from their second album Talk On Corners. I remember
I was sitting in front of my PC at work one summer morning in 1999. My colleague
had his radio on, and when they played WCID, I thought now that's a nice song.
I asked my colleague if he knew the name of the group, but he didn't so we both
waited till the end of the song hoping that the radio presenter would tell. And
he did; he said this song was performed by an Irish family group called
The Corrs, three sisters and one brother. Over the next few days I heard this
song several times on the radio, and I liked it more and more, so I decided to
buy the CD. So I did, and I went home to listen to it. I remember thinking
if a group can create such an lovely song, then surely the rest of the album
can't be too bad. When I pressed PLAY on my CD player that evening, my life
changed. I know this sound dramatic, but it's a fact that my love for their
music has taken me to places I would never had gone to if I hadn't bought that
CD. It's a fact that all the pleasure I've taken from listening to their music
nearly on a daily basis, wouldn't have happened either if I hadn't bought TOC.
I was hooked from the very first listening to TOC. Well into the second run of
the CD that evening, I took a closer look at the album cover, and this is when
I fell in love, three times over! I couldn't believe my eyes! Three fantastic
beautiful sisters (and one handsome brother). Not only did they create and
perform great music, but they were incredible good looking as well!
Over the next few weeks I played the CD over and over again, liking it more
and more. I found out that they had released an earlier album, which I bought
straight away of course. And with this album, Forgiven, Not Forgotten in the
CD player, my admiration for this Irish group grew ever stronger. Another fantastic
great album from these extremely talented siblings from Dundalk. By now I had
made up my mind, that if I had the chance to do so I would go to one of their
concerts. I went searching the web to find out where to catch them, and after a
while I succeeded! On November 18th they would have a concert at Globen Arena in
Stockholm, Sweden. I immediately made the necessary arrangements, ordering
concert ticket, booking flights and hotel. The concert was going to
be arranged only one week after the annual MTV Europe Music Awards was held
at the same place. So I got a real good look at the venue watching the MTV
show, trying to figure out where I was going to be seated.
The trip to Stockholm was a great success! A fantastic experience, and right
then and there I decided to attend to more of their concerts whenever I would
have the opportunity to do so. Unfortunately it would take more than four years
until I got the chance to experience them live again. It was a summer special
concert in Bonn Germany in the summer of 2005. A much smaller outdoor venue this
time, but the excitement and the fantastic lovely feeling of seeing them live was the
same. It really is impossible for me to put down in words what it's like to be
at a live concert with my favourite group, it has to be experienced!

At the music store I noticed that they'd also released some concert DVDs. Needless
to say, I bought'em all :-)! 'The Corrs, Live at Lansdowne Road' is probably
their 'biggest' gig ever, and the ONE concert I really whish I would
have gone to! The concert is beautifully captured on camera and presented on
the DVD, and a must have for a Corrs fan! My hunger for more material from the
group send me searching on online stores on the web. And in November 2005 I bought
the double DVD All the way home, a history of The Corrs. It contained 2 DVDs; a
documentary DVD telling their story, and a concert DVD called Live in Geneva which
was part of their Borrowed Heaven tour.
In the spring of 2007, Andrea releases her first solo record Ten feet high.
On this CD she experiments with sounds quite different from The Corrs. At first I
was very surprised, and didn't know what to think about it. But after several runs in the
CD player I started to like it more and more. It's great to hear her voice again!
